Just checked the weather map. Rain falling over significant portions of Texas and from New York to Maine but the rest of the nation is dry. Of course, this strip was drawn days or weeks ago.
I see nothing melancholy about storms. We have been having rain all day. When I hear thunder I have to get off the computer, shut it down and unplug it.

I think it might be due to the wet sand being really messy. At least for the beach. The pool, I dunno.
