He does look funny when the arm/s are missing, but they are unnecessary to the comedy. I was looking at panel 2, thinking where would the arms be, what would they be doing? The answer was maybe the hand spread out on the ground so as not to tip over when being picked up by 1 toe. That would indicate emotion on his part, such as feeling uneasy at being picked up like that, but it would Not add to the story.A real, younger baby maybe, would probably throw both arms out to the sides. I Learned that babies Hate to be carried backwards with a hand under each arm. I wouldn’t like anyone to carry ME backwards like that but sometimes babies are so messy, it is all the closer you want to hold them..
