In this strip I suppose you can compare Sam and Sedine to Adam and Eve, considering Sam’s sanity and Sedine’s susceptibility to temptation, such as illuminati fast food. Yet for Charlene and Roy they’re more like Eve and the snake who tempted her! XD

If the strip weren’t self-syndicated, Bea could never have gotten away with having one of the main characters smoke.

I mean, villains and minor characters like ‘Diet Smith’ over on ‘Dick Tracy’ are allowed to smoke, but Tracy’s sidekick ‘Sam Catchem’ had to switch over to a nicotine patch, then settle for gnawing on a toothpick.

In Europe, even cowboy ‘Lucky Luke’ gave up the habit after many years.

I gave them up when I was 12. Had I not, I wouldn’t be here today posting this.

Comments about smoking… smoking, the layout, destroying the car… but no one commented on the coded joke. Shows you where everyone is in relation to the central idea.

So where does Jolene spend her time when she’s not with the idiot, er, not with Roy? Their house have a garage?

Roy better be careful, this whole situation reminds me of the Leg-Lamp incident in “A Christmas Story” :)Then again, Charlene need not damage Jolene to get Roy’s attention back on her. She could always borrow Jolene to go for some long, slow “rides”, which must be her preference, given Roy’s otherwise unfulfilled need for a fast “ride”. Make Roy the jealous one and Jolene won’t be a problem any more. But then he might start doting on the minivan… the faithful, reliable friend.
