Democracy has always been a fragile experiment with everyone from the ancient Athenians, Roman Republicans, and American revolutionaries themselves doubting its longevity. In my opinion the first real optimist about self-government was Abraham Lincoln and even he in the Gettysburg Address admitted difficult it would be to maintain such a system. Most likely model for the future of America? Augustus’ Roman Empire in which his return to monarchy was veiled by a semblance of the old Republic.

Absolutely the worst system of government… except for all the others.

How about: Trumpocracy? “The art of the scam”.

Are only hope is to be ruled by a super computer that has artificial intelligence.

Nope, it was only a failed experiment in the Middle East. Way to many different tribes and different religions that all hate each other’s guts and have to much history between them.

Democracy isn’t just dead in Turkey. We had a fraudulent election here, too!
