People weren’t fascinated with having a watch until right before the Vogons came.

I’m with ‘Dad’ in the last panel. Usually we suggest no phones, ipads, etc, at dinner table. Now my wife and I are beginning to think of making the whole house off limits during family visits.

In other words, you’re either with us or you’re not. Can’t take the pressure? There’s always some place else you can do that.

Why do we still call them “phones”? Telephoning is one thing we seldom do with it.

I’m with Dad here. I had recently switched from my old land line to a flip phone but refuse to join the smartphone herd due to the control those things exert on people’s lives. This was painfully driven home when I was almost run down by a kid who was messing with his cell phone while riding his bicycle. I wonder what Jeff would think of that.

Bad feelings stir up others. Lighting a match, so don’t be surprised you get a forest fire.

With right brain activities, (drawing and abstract stuff) opposed to left brain activities,( like spelling and reading) different ways of thinking affected how people learn. For mainly right-brained people like myself, telling time was a more left brain activity. And therefore hard to learn, and for right brained people the digital clock was a godsend. In fact trying to tell time made it hard to even draw a clock, It would switch me from right to left brain thinking. I would end up with most of the numbers on one side.Maybe some of you had that difficulty too?
