Where’s the science behind the car in the space thing? Where does even one find Bradley’s knife angel?

Since the knife angel appears to be a recent creation, why is the person in the drawing dressed like someone from the 18th century?

Are we talking wide open in a sports car or highway speeds in a Civic?

To drive at constant speed straight up, ignoring initial acceleration, you have to apply constant force equal to cancel the local gravitational field. A very powerful car has 373,000 joules per second of power. The energy to get a car mass of 1500 kg into space is roughly 1.5 times 10^10 Joules. (divide 1.5 X 10^10 by time T seconds to equal 3.73 X 10^5 power units to yield time required for trip. T = (1.5)/(3.73) X 10^5 = 5 X 10^4 seconds. = 8 X 10^2 minutes. = 13 hours . This actually moves out to orbital distance. So car could go no faster than 70/13 = 6 mph. To go at 70 requires 13 X 373,000 joules per second or 6500 horsepower. The most powerful production car is 1500 hp. so maximum speed about 25 mph. it would take about 3 hours to get to orbital height. About 2 hours to get to outer space. Off by factor of two.

Lemons have a thicker peel than limes. The white part on the inside of the lemon peel holds enough air to make the lemon float.
