Trump is finally being referred to publicly as a serial liar. How long before we admit his lying is derived from his mental illness?

Worst part is that these “tax payers” aren’t even aware of it.

i think a lot of the chump voters are waiting for the deportations so they can get really lousy paying jobs in restaurants and lettuce fields. most of them don’t seem to understand their idol is not just a liar, but a deadbeat, too.

@twclix, a book you may already know, but applicable to the subject.

One of the most salient features of our culture is that there is so much bullshit…we lack a conscientiously developed appreciation of what it means to us. In other words, as Harry Frankfurt writes, “we have no theory.”

Frankfurt, one of the world’s most influential moral philosophers, attempts to build such a theory here. With his characteristic combination of philosophical acuity, psychological insight, and wry humor, Frankfurt proceeds by exploring how bullshit and the related concept of humbug are distinct from lying. He argues that bullshitters misrepresent themselves to their audience not as liars do, that is, by deliberately making false claims about what is true. In fact, bullshit need not be untrue at all.

Rather, bullshitters seek to convey a certain impression of themselves without being concerned about whether anything at all is true. They quietly change the rules governing their end of the conversation so that claims about truth and falsity are irrelevant. Frankfurt concludes that although bullshit can take many innocent forms, excessive indulgence in it can eventually undermine the practitioner’s capacity to tell the truth in a way that lying does not. Liars at least acknowledge that it matters what is true. By virtue of this, Frankfurt writes, bullshit is a greater enemy of the truth than lies are.

Let’s see… $500 mil a year for Mexico’s foreign aide. $12-odd billion for the wall. Seems like there might be a solution in there somewhere.HEN3RY

It seems like you are proposing that the US stop giving Mexico money in lieu of collecting for the cost of the wall. Now, say again, how is it that they are paying for it ?

Walls worked so well in Berlin, Israel locking up Palestinians and stealing their lands with walls, dividing Baghdad with walls, recent history doesn’t favor walls, as Vincente Fox pointed out, and in all ways, AMERICANS who supported Trump will be the biggest victims of the policy, well, actually, all of Trumps announced policies or EOs so far. Self inflicted wounds are the “prize” for those who voted for him.

Just out of curiosity (and because someone mentioned it on a blog I read), does anyone here remember the Maginot Line? And how well it worked for France?

Or as I always say, Mexico will just say “Shoddy construction. We don’t pay for poor work. Some American taught us that.”

Hen3ry, you’re posting “alternative facts” aka LIES again.

.The U.S. set aside around $134 million for Mexico this year. For now, the U.S. hasn’t sent any of that money, but it also means Mexico won’t receive that entire amount.

.For fiscal year 2016, the U.S. gave Mexico only $47 million out of the $142 million they had initially announced.

And the punch-line is, Trump is going to build that wall, so tax payers will be paying Mexico to pay Trump. Won’t America be great again, when the president can funnel your money directly into his pockets?

Mike, you have the economic knowledge of a moron! There are many, many ways to skin the Mexican taxpayer/government. Balancing the trade deficit with Mexico will pay for the wall many, many, times over. Go back to college econ… Obviously, you failed.
