Can’t actually reply to this cartoon, can you @jmattadams? It’s funny because it’s true. This isn’t “turnabout.” This is the way it is. He shamelessly rode a wave of racism — which apparently runs in his family, judging by his father (blocking people of color from his properties illegally) and his son (quoting white supremacy websites). There was NEVER any question about Obama’s legitimacy. There is still no certainty about Trump’s.

Oh, and by the way, the cartoonist does what the cartoonist does. The Editor doesn’t get to change it to suit his badly-reasoned whims.

As usual, OC nails the truth. The republicans have no shame. Are there three of them in the Senate with the stones to stand up and investigate the likely republican traitors, including the traitor-elect? We shall see.

“I listened as they called my President a Muslim (as if it were a bad thing). I listened as they called him a monkey. I listened as they said he wasn’t born here. I watched as they blocked every single path to progress that they could. I saw the pictures of him as Hitler. I listened as they openly said that they will oppose him at every turn. I watched as they did just that. I listened and I watched and I paid attention. Now, I’m being called on to be tolerant. To move forward. To denounce protesters. To “Get over it.” To accept this…I will not. I will do my part to make sure this great American mistake becomes the embarrassing footnote of our history that it deserves to be, as quickly as possible. I will do my part to limit the damage that this man can do to my country. I will vote. I will watch his every move and point out every single mistake and misdeed in a loud and proud voice. Do not call for my tolerance. I’ve tolerated all I can. Now it’s their turn to tolerate ridicule. Be aware, make no mistake about it, every single thing that goes wrong in our country from this day forward is now Trump’s fault just as much as they thought it was Obama’s. I find it unreasonable for them to expect from me what they were entirely unwilling to give. They will find no shelter here."

That thin skinned baby can load his diapers full of it but he sure can’t take it. Like most Republicans, they are more than willing to work with government now after crapping on the US for 20 years. They are the ones who wanted smaller government, and to delegitimatize Obama. Now they are crying if we don’t 100% back the least popular president of all time? Republican tears are as bitter as their laughter.

I don’t see any reason to question whether his presidency is legitimate. He didn’t receive the majority of the votes, he was supported by false claims by the FBI director, and his opponent’s campaign was infiltrated by the Russian government. How could that produce any presidency that could be defined as legitimate?

The GOP owns the coming disaster, totally! They’ll cover their actions with a tsunami of lies, twisters of propaganda, and dumpsters of tweets deflecting responsibility. The Reich wing media is already gearing up cheering for the new fascist goals, and working nonstop to destroy the last vestiges of democracy in this country.

As of last count, there are now 59 members of congress that will not attend the swearing in. Legitimate indeed…..
