I don’t mind it. I know they put in the political cartoons but not Sherpa, from what I can tell.

Hi, T. Pardon me while I put this message out on behalf of myself and everyone else on Sherpa… Snow started off on Comics Sherpa, a bit of GoComics for up-and-coming cartoonists which has become decoupled from the rest of the site in this new update. We’ve been temporarily relegated to a dark corner of the internet, but if you want to see the Snows of the future please bookmark this page: http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/home.html. Thanks.

It wouldn’t load for me the first day.

And i don’t like that i have to click the little “word balloon” to get into the comments.

I think that they should pop in with the comic.

Hi, Andrew! I hope they resolve the Sherpa issue ASAP! In my humble opinion, “Smith” is a great strip and deserves to be on the main page. Hopefully, your strip will be Snow’s neighbor again in the very near future.

Happy, I agree with you that there is too much extra clicking steps to access basic features. I hope that GoComics resolves this issue quickly.

Hi Theresa! The new format is taking some getting used to. I’m like the other readers, having to click on the comments, and if you want to refresh them (the comments) you have to refresh to entire page and then again click on the comments balloon. No magnifying glass for the smaller comics — my eyes aren’t what they used to be a few years ago. Sherpa is missing, hopefully it will come back soon; miss GIRTH over there, and you can’t even leave comments for Steve to know that we miss him. AT least it sounds like he will get reimbursed some of his fee…All in all, this is probably change for the sake of those readers who access via smart phones, and of course all of the new spots for ads… Losing the picture-posting abilities and such will cut down on the bandwidth for GoComics (and hence less cost for them), but we, the readers, lose out the experiences in the end. And then, you – Theresa -, Paul, Steve, you lose readers and then it cuts into the revenues. Saw this happen over at Yahoo Groups, same thing, changed it all over for the smart phones, and opened up more space for advertising. But, I’ll hang in here. Still, for me, it is a good deal, I cut out the hard-copy newspaper three years ago and gone completely digital, but “I gotta have my comic laughs!”

Hi, BaconBoyCamper! I appreciate you taking the time to find “Snow Sez…” and to comment (more so than ever before – if that’s even possible. I am ALWAYS appreciative of every person who takes the time to comment on my comic)! I just know how on this new site it is so painstaking to find each and every comic favorite and then to click on the word bubble button, then scroll down and click on every “reply” button to read the previous comments and then to finally comment. It’s A LOT. So, again, THANK YOU.

I agree. It is not really fair to loyal readers or cartoonists alike. Personally, I prefer the previous GoComics site and wish they’d return to it. I’m reminded of the saying, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Therefore, I suggest keeping the main design framework from the previous site and finding ways to enhance it, rather than throwing the baby out with the bath water, so to speak. Does that make sense? I give credit to GoComics for being open-minded to experimentation of new ideas regarding how to make the site better in order to keep up with the ever-evolving technology platforms. However, this new design needs some more fine tuning – ASAP!

In my opinion, the old site was more user friendly. I hope that the GoComics team will iron out these issues and perhaps consider implementing the things that were successful from the previous site, such as being able to have an overview of all the comics listed alphabetically on one page (rather than 13 pages), as well as being able to navigate from one comic to another seamlessly, in addition to being able to view all comments listed without all the extra clicking.

Again, I appreciate that you will continue to subscribe and read “Snow Sez…”! I will understand if you and others will no longer comment. I completely understand. Although, hopefully, the issue will be resolved and there will be a vibrant comic community again because I really do love hearing from you and all of the wonderful readers!
