Organized crime frequently gives to charity and other civic functions. They want to be in position to influence how and where the money is spent on law enforcement. Cheaper in the long run to control the whole system than bribe individuals.

I’m with Trump on this one: “With all that Congress has to work on, do they really have to make the weakening of the Independent Ethics Watchdog, as unfair as it … may be, their number one act and priority. Focus on tax reform, healthcare and so many other things of far greater importance!”

I wonder if this “flap” was purposely staged, a la “Celebrity Apprentice.” And notice that Trump’s tweet did not demand the action be permanently shelved.

The Democrats could never pull off a spectacular plank maneuver they will all cheer on the GOP as they blindly go forward to bonk into the rest of the planks in the room while the rank and file pretend it was what they wanted all along.

First action to drain the swamp was an attempt to weld the plug in place, and invite in some more skunks.
