Maybe Tom and Megyn Kelly can meet in a “safe room” and have a good cry. In the meantime, most of the nation will be working hard to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.
I found this article interesting: https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/trafficandcommuting/metro-sank-into-crisis-despite-decades-of-warnings/2016/04/24/1c4db91c-0736-11e6-a12f-ea5aed7958dc_story.html?utm_term=.5e49d9728086
.
When it comes to maintenance, it’s all too similar to the U.S. as a whole.
A bit to “insider baseball” for those outside DC. I rode the Metro when it opened in 1976. It was wonderful then (even if way over budget). So sad it was allowed to go to hell.
Republican mantra: Just say no to that * in the white house. It doesn’t matter what the Dems or the people want. Our job, as Republicans, is to make sure no money goes to do what government is there to do. We are here to loot the federal budget and make sure our good friends and owners are well taken care of. All hail to the one percent.
The states may be united but the people continue to fight each other. And the fighting continues to escalate. If we want to return to the 1950s we will have to tax the rich give laborers bargaining rights.
its not just the rich, but remember that corporations are considered people- people are taxed on how much money they make-revenue- rather than their savings- profits. Revenue taxing would make tax fraud more difficult incentivize large corporate spltting, and could even be high but have subsidies for high wages so Employers have an incentive to pay more

Metro was designed to be “disposable”, no allowance was made for “real” maintenance.
