I like gift bags, because otherwise my presents from my husband are wrapped in a shopping bag. Gift bags are nice if the gift is small and lightweight, and needs to be carried somewhere. The gift bags don’t work as well for heavy gifts. But I’d do without gift bags before I’d do without modern appliances.
