I see tvs advertised in actual paper productions.

They are more like public service messages as the vast majority of American homes are sadly lacking in the television viewing area department.

Who’s going to break the shocking news to Mallett…uh, I mean Caulfield, that ads for televisions on television has been going on pretty much since televisions have existed?

It’s known as “recursion.”

on black friday I think I’ll read my comics page and see how many amusing adverts come up on the sides…and ponder on what the agencies think I want and why they think what they do. Other than that I’ll Opt Outside (thanks to REI for the catchy slogan)

I haven’t had a TV for about 10 years, threw it out and never looked back.

I do love the ads where they try to show you the glory of the “4K” HDTV… on your now-hopelessly-outdated (two year old) 780p screen (or better, my old CRT set). “Images simulated…”

Or buy a Chromecast (on sale for $25) and get three months of HBO NOW for free.
