Just because Putin wants Trump to win doesn’t mean Republicans have a problem with it. Unpatriotic people who want the government to fail have no problem letting a foreign country help their candidate win. It doesn’t matter to them if she wins, they would rather have Putin than Clinton, so it will be easy for them to be unAmerican and not accept the election results.
As Clinton pointed out, seventeen federal agencies have determined that it was Russia that did the hacking. I’d believe that over a right-wing talk radio host. Then again, reality has a liberal bias.
Why is Putin so interested in the American presidential election? Why are Russian hackers implicated in probes of the DNC and state voting systems? Does Putin want Trump because he has no experience in government and he feels he can manipulate Trump? What concerns me is that Trump might not be Putin’s puppet. Maybe Trump and Putin have worked out a deal. Putin offers Trump financial support, and some vague promises to allow Trump leeway in paying the debt back. Maybe he throws in an offer to allow Trump some opportunities to make a bunch of money. Maybe Putin throws in a sop, some sort of “victory” that Trump can point to in order to mollify critics. Trump, in return, promises to keep out of Putin’s way while Russia moves strongly into the Arctic, former Soviet “republics” and anywhere else he wants.
