This one is as stupid as the North Carolina bathroom law or the one in Arizona that due to the vague wording could actually put parents in jail for changing their child’s diaper or a doctor for medically examining a sick child. The Rethuglicans, and most politicians for that matter, are so far away from sanity they couldn’t see it with the Hubble telescope.
It is sad that Rob Rogers wishes to protect the terrible right wing regime that controls Saudi Arabia. He should be speaking out against their racism, misogyny, and homophobia.
Bipartisan Political Theater at it’s finest. Word on the Hill is saying the Congresscritters will repeal or pass a drastically revised bill after they’ve secured their jobs for another few years.
The Saudis are even happier now that the Bush administration hustled them all out of the country immediately, and I mean immediately after the attacks before the FBI or CIA could interview any of them.
Yes, Rob nailed it. Sympathy for the families would call for indicting and extradicting any Saudis found responsible as participants at any stage of the attacks. Tort liability opens up an idiotic can of worms. Bipartisan stupidity on this one, the veto was right, and the bill as passed, dumb.

They should pass a bill to sue the Congress directly for their warmongering.

Passage of the bill is a defeat for Obama.
Therefore, it MUST be good for the country, right?
And even if it isn’t, a defeat for Obama trumps whatever is good for the country.
Right?

Once again Congress has failed to show any sense of leadership or intelligence. They only see headlines.
