Boehner should know better - Tan In A Spray Can “Orange” isn’t a good look.
Seems the Republican leadership has held Economic Recovery “HOSTAGE” since President Obama won the election. Even before he took office, the Economy started to sputter - acting like someone put sugar in the gas tank to gum things up. Now we’re in a Recession/Depression & still the Republicans refuse to help/cooperate.
The party of NO should be shown the door & booted out this November!
Since the Republican have stopped the recovery, that must mean they already control both houses. When did that happen? I missed that. I don’t agree with them being the party of “NO”. They should be the party of “HELL NO”!
GJ, the Dems passed the huge stimulus and the healthcare bill. That doesn’t sound like the Republicans were very good at holding those bills “hostage”. As for booting the “party of no” this November, it sounds like you want a single party to govern. I have the feeling that if there was one Republican in either the house or the senate, you and many others would still say that the Republicans are holding the recovery hostage.
Bills can be passed via normal means(simple majority), a fillibuster-proof majority is 60 the Dems have 58 plus an independent who usually votes with them. If that still wasn’t enough bills can be passed using Reconciliation, which bypasses normal procedure. So please tell me how the Republicans are holding ANYTHING “hostage” I would like to know the logic behind your argument.

Reconciliation can only be used for measures which positively affect the budget and are usually significantly “nerfed” to do so because each item must be voted legitimate by a judge.
