But Zika doesn’t cause premature death. For most people the symptoms are minor to nonexistent. It’s the horrific birth defects that it causes that are the problem.
But hey! Better to fight to remove funding for long term care for a developmentally disabled child than to provide funding to prevent the problem in the first place. /snark
The Rich don’t really think it will happen to them. Meanwhile, the Zika-carrying mosquito shrugs and says, “No matter. Millionaires and bums taste about alike to me.” (apologies to archie and Don Marquis)
Isn’t this the same condolences they offer people who have died because of their reckless policies on guns? Sorry, thoughts and prayers, I am off to make more money.
Why, oh, why, would The republican Congress want to eradicate Zika? It doesn’t kill, it just produces severe mental retardation in new-borns. And 18 years later you have another Republican – this is called long term strategic thinking in the GOP.
ChevJames again presents a perfect example of “conservative”(not), Republican blatant lies, as of course it was Republicans INSERTING DEFUNDING of Planned Parenthood and banning funding, in a rider, as there was nothing in the Zika proposal to provide such funding. Likewise it was Republicans who demanded that funding be taken from ongoing research to do any additional funding for Zika.
At least those folks never need to worry about the unblemished truth, as all they sell, or vote for, is warts.

Have to admit that my “stupid” party dragged its heels, got the opprobrium it expected and having learned exactly zero in three decades caved in anyway. There’s no problem, however, a cash flush Planned Profithood stands ready to abort the Zika babies. Not sure these little corpses can be sold, but it’s not all skittles and beer.

Another equivalence gone to the dogs. It should not be either or both need to be addressed because all lives are important.

And don’t forget: “We” also have to allow the display of the Confederate Battle Flag in all the most inappropriate places.
