Most TV News people wouldn’t know real news reporting if it blew in and hit them in the face. They just read from their prepared notes.

Yep, neither side has any good ideas on how to put the defibrillator paddles to the economy. Repubs are still spouting the same rhetoric of tax cuts and Dems are shouting for silly investments that do nothing to increase productivity or trade or decrease costs. Both sides seem to be just waiting for “the next big thing.” We need patent and tort reform. We need year-round education. We need stronger worker’s rights legislation, particularly for older workers. We need incentives for companies or the public sector to hire B & C-average college grads in entry-level positions in the field they’ve trained for.

Okay, 90% of Americans ARE WORKING.

How many folks lost their homes to balloon payment “cheap” home loans, and an double-digit housing market inflation under Bush?

How many folks became homeless under Bush/Cheney, losing their jobs, and everything under a “tax reduction for the elite” program?

Now that the “elite” are caught up in their own profligate spending, with no tax increases to pay for it (like wars and defense spending instead of infrastructure) or the basic stupidity of shipping all our manufacturing jobs overseas to save “costs”– it’s all “Obama’s fault”– right. Well only to the right.

Point your finger at Barney Frank, not Bush.

Media Mum on Barney Frank’s Fannie Mae Love Connection

Where I live it’s 85% employment . Don’t forget all the people that were downsized from full time to part time. Then there is the commission based sales force that isn’t earning what they were when Bush/Cheney were in office. Then there are the self employed small/home businesses that are struggling. As even you can see, 90% is a questionable number.

Troutman, You forgot the spending on the National Debt. Where did that debt come from? Seems most came from the Repubs with the Great Ronald Reagan starting the “Big Spend.” Reduction in the National Debt? Oh, That came under the cowardly Bill Clinton. He didn’t declare a single war in eight years? Terrible.

    HAPPY LABOR DAY!

Our national debt appeared late January, 2009. Out of thin air. Anyone who tells you different is an Obama apologizist. Probably one of those baby killers.

It never ceases to amaze me that folks can readily go to the actual numbers or increase in the national debt from the day Reagan took office, watch it soar, then only climb a moderate 24% under Clinton, who finished up with a balanced budget (well almost) then more than double again- in trillions, not billions any more, under Bush/Cheney– and those who stare at goats to get their answers think it was only Barney and Barack who borrowed for red ink.

Nope, I certainly didn’t forget, but every repubtard does.

Hay SENIORBULLWINKLE, You will not be able to handle the proof or the truth!

Democrats in their own words Covering up the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac Scam that caused our Economic Crisis.

At a 2004 hearing see Democrat after Democrat covering up and attacking the regulations to protect Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (their Cash Cows) that are now destroying our economy because the Democrats let them cheat.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGTcSi7Rs

The Bush Admin and Senator McCain warned repeatedly about Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac and what thus became the 2008 financial crisis – starting in 2002 (and actually even earlier – in the Clinton and Carter White Houses. Democrats resisted and kept to their party line, extending loans to people who couldn’t afford them – just like you would expect of socialists.

    Hay DTROUTMA,

First of all, grow up! No need for calling names here. This is for adult conversation, so come back in ten years or so.

Second, you forget, Presidents don’t make budgets, Congress does. Presidents only sign them. So once again, I will educate you before it’s your bedtime.

Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party. They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For FY 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009.

    Ok, off to bed now…

trout, I must agree. Their was a day when I had some respect for you. At least you still like dogs.

Justice, didn’t Mr Clinton declare war on Granada, and then hand out thousands of medals? Maybe my memory is failing.

Hay Trout, I respect that you served our country and I thank you. That however does not make you an expert on economics.

National Debt=We owe somebody some money. Budget Deficit=We are spending more than we think we will rake in from taxes. That includes interest expenses.

BTW: It was in the billion’s while Bush/Cheney where in office while under democratic control, see above post. Even The big “O” hasn’t hit trillion’s yet (just under 2 according to the CBO) Be careful with your plurals

Get your facts straight before spewing your hate and vile here, because you are not helping your own cause. (Me thinks yer looking up your own goats (donkey’s) A$$)

I will tip my hat to you for serving our country, Thank you!

That was Ronald Reagan’s gig. To offset the Iran/contra gig.

    josefw,

You’re doing a good job of spewing out hate, yourself.

Btw, do you mean this article: “Democratic House Financial Services Committee Chair promoted GSEs while former ‘spouse’ was Fannie Mae executive.” ?

Wow, “righties” spew pure hatred constantly and a little aside brings out the “hate” whiners like ants to a honey spill.

BTW- 7% has for a long time been the “base line” figure accepted for adjusted unemployment in the U.S.. While way too many jobs have been outsourced, and the economy seriously damaged by “Reaganomics” false theories, blaming ALL the problems on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is ludicrous.

BTW also- CONGRESS does “write the budgets”, but the Executive also submits their own. The final budgets are resolved in House and Senate, then the President either signs or vetoes. Many rather “nasty” pieces of legislation, like riders and “earmarks” have made it in through budget bills that “had to pass” so Presidents, especially like Clinton, who wasn’t all that “liberal” signed some really bad laws into the books that were slipped in under budget resolutions.

A notable Obama painted corner was the Coburn amendment mandating loaded and/or concealed weapons being carried inside National Parks. While both parties have used the system, by far the most egregious contortions and abuse have come from minority Republicans in Congress over the past three decades.

It also doesn’t take an “expert on economics” to balance a checkbook, and looking at Reagan, Bush 41, and 43 it is obvious their folks never learned, except to pass the blame (and debt) on to others when the checks bounced.

The invasion of Grenada was REAGAN, and we lost more to “friendly fire” than the total number of “enemy” on the island from Cuba. The pretense was to rescue medical students. One might look to how close Grenada is to the off-shore oil resources of Venezuela. Reagan compounded failures in the middle Americas - like “Iran/Contra” and never really got anything right, like losing a F-111 crew to blow up Quadaffi’s daughter.
