Did you see that guy throw trash out of his car window? We should run him off the road and over a bridge rail or somethin'! For littering? What else can we do? I got my videogame privilege taken away cause some guy littered.
That’s a darn shame, 6 – but, as a professional driver, be assured that an amazing amount of my time spent, not being aware of bicycles, not respecting their right to the road, but taking active measures to assure I don’t kill them as they do stupid sh*t. I agree with your green leanings & think it would be wonderful if most motor vehicles – espcially in cities – were repalced with human driven ones; that said, however, until you folks learn that your moral superiority does not make you invulnerable to 40 tons of steel, bicyclists as a class will remain a hazard to one and all.And Toby – right on!!
Also, this comic strip is about littering and video game mentality. I get such a kick out of the odd directions we go in the comment sections every day. Let’s talk about religion and politics next!!
I don’t think this is exclusive to a videogame mentality. After all, people have been killing each other for doing things they don’t like for thousands of years.
Bicycles scare me witless. When I was learning to drive, a couple of kids came out of an alley on bicycles. The first one was looking over his shoulder at the other, shot out from between two parked cars, and broadsided my car. I heard the rear wheels crush the bicycle and thought I had killed the kid! Fortunately he was thrown clear and only his bicycle was crushed.
To this day, almost sixty years later, passing a cyclist on a street is a white knuckle experience.
While I’m aware that many cyclists do use care while they’re out & about, the vast majority of the ones I’ve seen have been arrogant pr**ks who seem to feel that rules are for other people.
A few years ago, there was a kid on a bicycle who, on his way to school, went sailing off the sidewalk and into the side of a truck, killing himself in the process. While it’s a tragedy yes, I can’t help but feel much sorrier for the poor truck driver than for the kid who didn’t bother to pay attention to where he was going or what he was doing.

Somebody told me that there was a guy on his bike who was playing Pokemon Go while he was cycling.
Admittedly, I love Pokemon (I’m a regular player) but I’d rather play it where I’ll not get killed.
I don’t have Pokemon Go on my phone by the way.
