“Large numbers of young people voting”. Fortunately for those of us with a brain, these “young people” are too busy Tweeting and Snapchatting to vote.

The lack of leadership offered by the Democrats and Republicans and their constant blame game is the cause of the rise in registration as non-affiliated voters and the decline in the numbers of registered Republicans and Democrats. The record low turnout has many causes … voter ID laws, elimination of convenient registration, ads directed to likely voters, etc.

Except that large numbers of young people DON’T VOTE! They talk a good show but remember the 2010 elections. Where were they?

I watched a couple of hours of kid’s tv with my granddaughter. It was about 85% lessons- mostly reading, but there was info on the artic region, political parties, and several other topics. I now understand why these kids are pro Bernie. They have no choice than to be smarter than those of us who grew up on Micky Mouse. And, when they start voting in large numbers, combined with the anchor babies who are getting old enough to vote, we are going to go blue so totally that Bernie is going to be middle of the road.

“According to the Census Bureau report, the turnout rate among 18-to 24-year olds fell to 41.2% in 2012 from 48.5% in 2008.”

If the young people had voted in large numbers during the primary, we might be electing president Sanders. The young do not always vote, but when they do, we usually get progressive, goal oriented leaders who help the people. when the young stay home we get regressive war mongers who help the rich.

Actually the kids have seen through the Republican fantasy and realize trickle down could begin with someone like Sanders. It’s the old guard (the “elites” if you will) who like Clinton. Bernie gave a rational plan, it is not his fault you did not look at it.
