I hope they give Whitey a good home! Who wouldn’t want a little fellow like him, cute as a button!

I understand them. I took from the shelter a dog that growled and snapped at me, just because I thought “with this attitude, if I don’t take her, she’s going to remain here forever”. Most of the people go to the shelter thinking to find a dog with “heart shaped eyes”, waiting for them. By the way, after one day she was already going along with me, and after some week at home, she turned in a sweet little dog with everyone, and I think I did the right thing. Ciao Whitey, be happy :-) Hope my english is good enough.

JusyCat, your English is just fine. I took a dog from the shelter that was so scared of everyone that she ran to the far corner of the shelter and tried to climb the walls in fear. When I took her home though she curled up on my lap and slept. She never completely lost her fear, but she was an extremely smart dog and I believe she could have been perfect for a TV or Movie dog because she learned to obey the most amazing commands. I could direct her all throughout the house by hand and voice commands. Her name was Kaya and by looking at my gocomics username you can see just how much she and my Lab Cleo have meant to me.

Poncho, you get what you deserve.

Lily is our litle psycho cat who cowered away from the front of the cage in which she and 4 other siblings were kept. The others all pleaded via “mews” but Lily looked so scared and distraught that we simply had to pick her. Wouldn’t trade her now for anything.

I will always, always, always take the one that has problems, or isn’t as “cute” or is frightened and cowering in a corner. Always!

And know what? I have never been disappointed in how they have blossomed. Or in the love and loyalty they have given me.

We ended up with the runt of the litter who was abandoned with two bigger siblings in an alleyway near our house. The dog-catcher grabbed the other two but I managed to snatch the small one, who was cowering behind a bush. She turned out to be extremely smart, strong-willed, healthy as an ox and very affectionate. I hate to think what happened to her sisters and what a close call she had.

This past Labor Day weekend our chi Dahlia had her puppies. She was bred by JJ. 5 pups 4 of which look like JJ and 1 like Dahlia. Tuesday our other chi Baby had her pups. All 4 are unique although 2 kind of look like Baby.
