I don’t know if BB made it up in the ‘80s, but I looked “Sugar Babies” up, thinking they might be like Jelly Babies.Mostly they appear to be young women, one around here mentioned in a newspaper article is 18, whoring themselves out to older men. Difference being groupies aren’t paid for their company.

Maybe the candy? Think it was caramel surrounded by chocolate.

In the 40s & 50s there was a black licorice vaguely human-shaped candy covered with sugar that was crudely called “N****r Babies”. The name was changed to “Sugar Babies” for obvious reasons. I believe these candies are what BB is referring too.

    As if!

The Rolling Stones, in Bloom County? Ha!

Playing to a venue with maybe eight or ten humans, a penguin, a possibly-alive cat, and a few other animals? Even a left-handed Milo Bloom could never afford it, and it’s not a charity gig.

ah, you guys are all so young! there was a candy called the “sugar daddy”, which was a caramel strip covered with chocolate on a stick – it plays a significant part in the upcoming “battle of the sexes” – http://ew.com/movies/2017/08/17/battle-of-the-sexes-fall-movie-preview/ – “sugar babies” were the large-raisin-sized smaller version of that – think “reeses pieces”
