I’ll assume you, Lila, aren’t that ignorant, so I’ll say that joke’s in pretty bad taste.

More likely Lila is in shock and her mind is refusing to understand what he is really saying…

I’m heartened to see that there are still some people in the world who understand the concept of “Bad Taste”. Which this certainly is.

Reality does not always reflect good taste. I’ve worked EMS and seen people under sudden tremendous stress say the dumbest things. Lost means more than one thing and in her mind it can’t mean death. It will sink in.

I am sadly guilty of saying stupid things at difficult times and Lila’s gaff was intended to show her poor reaction to the statement…out of denial and shock and yes, stupidity. I’m sorry that some felt it to be in bad taste. But then, there’s a lot about that strip that some people could say is in bad taste. Taste is very subjective. As always, though, I truly appreciate the comments and feedback. It really makes me think about how what I write translates to readers.

Odd, I remember this story arc about Drew losing the baby, but I certainly don’t remember Lila saying anything like that back then.
