What I like here is the role reversal. Many times, earlier in the history of this strip, that final panel would have depicted a jubilant Charlie Brown pursued by Violet or Patty or whoever, having just taunted them to the breaking point. I guess henceforth, we’ll usually see the definitively discomfited Charlie.
