Seems the Metro was DOA based on TT’s cartoons about it! Was it really that bad? I mean are their any lost ghost trains that never arrived, and passengers who never returned?

The three districts need to come up with a safety oversight body for the Metro. They will lose millions in federal transportation funding – so I’m sure most of those tears are over dollars not people. The Tri-State Oversight Committee was woefully inadequate for the job and the safety oversight of Metro’s rail operations were transferred to the FTA. This was supposed to be temporary. I can’t be the only one who can see the set up for another Flint-type disaster. With governments wanting to save money and take no responsibility, kicking their jobs down the line. It won’t be until something happens that we will get safety oversight we need. And everyone will shake their heads and point fingers.

Reading about the Metro’s woes “trains” my thoughts on the similarly cursed & beleaguered Amtrak trains. Both are beyond “if” there will be new major disasters, but “when”, & how serious. All committees cannot prevent problems due to human fallibilities, nor intangible forces.

You are right – I try and stick to the topics and addressing the posters. I think it is funny that when a local issue gets on the comic boards there is always someone to complain. However, as you said, it is better to let them out themselves rather than poke at the bear.

I wouldn’t wish it on him lol – it would be fun to see lawyers trying to come up with the best puns to get points on their suits!
