There IS a Mathdom, Trout!But being Lord and Queen of it isn’t something heralded, with pomp and fanfare, and rewarded with tributes from the multitudes…
I am far from the Ruler of All Mathdom…merely a slightly arithmetically minded Lady-in-Waiting in the great Royal household of Math rulers….
Yet if I do something the least bit arithmetical…like, say, divide up the lunch check …figure out a day of the week in 1997, or, especially, even appear to think about using algebra..I’m rewarded with boos, hisses, and rotten fruit,They could at least throw tomatoes.I like tomatoes.But a math crown… no thanks.
Fortunately, I think Agnes is in no danger of wearing one.
If Agnes is the Queen of Mathdom, I am the Court Jester. I have been known to had my cheque book to the person behind me and ask them how much money I have.
“Getting AS much gum for a buck THAT you can” ??!? Sigh. Well, Trout, Agnes may never be Queen of Mathdom, but for a CERTAINTY you will never be Queen of Grammardom at this rate!!
