What always stunned me as a little kid was the idea that the universe was infinite, that it went on forever. Even though science now tells us it’s not infinite, they also tell us it’s expanding at an ever increasing rate, so it might as well be infinite. Totally blew my mind at a time when 30 seemed old, 50 seemed ancient, and 100 just seemed like an impossibly long time, probably prehistoric.

Come on. “Sesame Street” teaches numbers higher than 12. Not that high, but still.

If you stay inside the city, only 12 stars are visible.

To make it a little confusing: some of the dots are planets. Some of the dots are whole galaxies with a hundred billion stars and planets.
