Comixbomix: the point is the size meant it was NOT a “hydrogen” fusion bomb. The other point is that Kim is also ticking off China, his only ally, anywhere on the planet.
Also, that Kim can attack Seoul with his conventional artillery is a fact, a nuclear attack on S. Korea would also destroy Kim and his people, and that S. Korea even without us has a significant retaliation capability, means dangerous bluster is just that. The REAL danger is that it gives American chickenhawks more rational to go stupid on the international stage.
Did anyone stop to think that when Kim stages those huge parades with all his troops and weapons in one spot at one time, an attack with conventional weapons could easily take out his army, AND all his missiles and weapons in 30 seconds??
I really don’t get North Korea’s approach to all of this anyway. I’ve been keeping tabs on their relations with the rest of the world lately, and it’s been really back and forth. One day they’re all “we’re not a threat, we don’t mean you any harm” and then the next they’re all “we’ll totally bomb you off the face of the earth” in attitude.Either way, they’re a threat, but really not the biggest one out there at the moment. Their military equipment is seriously outclassed and out of date by everybody else, they really wouldn’t stand much of a chance in prolonged conflict and I think they know it (hence all the bravado), and this whole H-bomb debacle has demonstrated that not many really are THAT worried about them going on the offensive.Even if they DO, I’d be more worried about the safety of S Korea and other countries in the immediate area of N Korea than America’s safety, which I think has slightly bigger fish to fry with all that’s going on in both the Middle East and our own borders.
