    I’m sure we can all relate. I’m waiting for a book to come out in a few days and I’m suffering from very serious delusions of “My entire life has been leading up to this.”

    Just so people don’t think Jason is totally obsessed with Starcraft II, that’s a Hot Wheels track he’s playing with.

    It used to be that I’d even rather go to the dentist than the DMV office. But the DMV has improved!

    It is I, the one whom the joke was on about a month or so ago–“the iphone prototypes lost in bars caper.” As with my lack of keeping up with the latest gadgets, I know nothing about Starcraft–except as a brand of camping trailer–or Zerglings. I’ve heard of Duke Nukem, but not Duke Nukem Forever. Whether any of them are real or not, I don’t plan to look them up to find out. More important things going on in my life.

    But, I’m glad to see Jason appreciates something from my era: the Hot Wheels track.

    But Andie, you let your kid drag you to his level, and lose your sense of priorities. If I had to miss out on the premier of a show on the tube (big thing for us back in those days), Jason can learn to put his values in the right place too.

    But maybe the jokes on me again. I suppose now-a-days, if she tries to discipline him, social services will come down on them. The brats rule!

    I’d better end my ramblings now, before I get carried away. It’s just a comic strip, right?

    AH, fair. please forgive skeeter. He or she likely has wasted his or her time on a life outside of ether. Once tulips were the basis of the Dutch economy. Then someone woke up one day and said, “But it’s only a tulip.” The economy collapsed over night. Someday the continuous piling on of new games will make a kid go, “But there’s a real flesh and blood life out there. Tech isn’t EVERYTHING.” And that economy will land on it’s nose, too. After perfected 3-d of course.

    Besides there so many reruns of old movies to waste your life on on the older idiocy box. :-)

    Starcraft came out 10 years ago?? And it’s older than Jason. Suddenly I feel old.

    Personally I can’t wait till my own kid is old enough to tell things like: Internet? I predate the internet. And when I was a teenager, I had a modem that was only 300 baud. We surfed the internet in a text-only browser! And a single picture of web pr0n took 5 minutes to load!

    I love the little joke about the agelessness of comic strip characters. Jason was 10 is 1988 when FoxTrot started. He was 10 in 1998 when Starcraft came out. And now, he’s 10 in 2010 when Starcraft II comes out. I wonder what will happen when he turns 11?

    BIGCHIEF I’ll take DMV over dentist any day. You have to worry and wait in either office (true, maybe you wait a LITTLE longer in DMV) but you can read a book. Don’t tell my you went to DMV with only a newspaper. You ever try to read while a man with hairy hands and bad breath sticks a drill whirling at 8000rpm in your mouth? I rest my case. Besides, there might be some cute chicks at DMV. Maybe.

And forget about selectin’ movies. Most nights, if you didn’t wanna watch frickin’ Doris frickin’ Day in ‘The frickin’ Glass-Bottom frickin’ Boat’ then you were just outta frickin’ LUCK!”

    Jason, you will need to learn that a good gamer can pull away from a top rated game and leave the house. The game will still be there when you get back. You can always play your DS in the waiting room. ; )

    LAdybug, why not play wi-fi on a laptop? By the way, what’s so big about starcraft? isn’t it a real-time strategy game? I played enough of C&C Red Alert to be sick of those.

    For those who don’t know, Starcraft was an RTS PC game released back in 1998, which literally defined the RTS genre. There has never been a game as great as SC. It’s not an understatement to say people have been waiting 11 years for it’s sequel.

    @GeraldTarrant-

    It is an understatement. People who played starcraft 1 died a little inside every time the release date for Starcraft II was postponed. And hopefully starcraft 2 won’t meet the same end as starcraft: ghost.
