True story, My sister and I visited our relatives in Albuquerque . We went to a store with a cousin and bought cheese and wine. we couldn’t purchase the wine because I didn’t have my license . The clerk said that all 3 of us had to have ID. Well we went to the car and my cousin went back in and got the wine . Never had that experience before.

I’m surprised that she didn’t find a cheap imitation rum flavoring instead!

Gary’s Finer Foods, Mt. Vernon Iowa won’t sell alcohol to anyone without an ID. I was 52 and looked it. Was in there all the time, they knew me, carded every time.

Apparently the store had minors disguise themselves as older. The store most likely got in trouble. So from then they decide to card everyone.

Actually, Burl has been in that store before and harassed the clerk (as usual). This was payback.

The clerk was concerned about your I.Q, Burl, not you I.D…………

No one in my house drank, not even wine. My mom did make fruitcake every Christmas and used to soak the fruit in cooking wine. One year, someone suggested she try using rum. So, she made her first ever trip to the liquor store at age 50+ and proceeded to ask the clerk if he had any Barracuda Rum.
