Not very good service, should have waited to bring both meals out at the same time.

I think the waiter won’t mind getting stiffed for the tip for the satisfaction of making that perfect comment about Burl. He probably knows Burl is not going to tip worth a darn anyway

On the other hand, that’s a pretty snarky comment for a waiter to make. Didn’t think Joy’s request was so outrageous. But as tims145 mentioned, he may be familiar with these customers.

Always ask for small packets for salt, pepper, ketchup, or mustard if you are in a not-upscale restaurant. I have seen kids lick salt and pepper shakers and stick the ketchup and mustard squirters up their noses and their parents ignore it. I did point those things out to the manager, quietly, so he could replace the items on the tables. They were separate incidents, but the same restaurant.
