Way back when, an American asked me where was the nearest Sears Roebuck. Well, we only had Sears (some were Simpson’s Sears), but I told him that here it is called S&R and it was located at the other end of town, at the end of Princess St. He thanked me, and off he went…

Little did he know that S&R was nothing more than what a ‘dollar store’ is today and there is only on street parking with meters. Still wonder to this day if he had any choice words for me!

If that’s a personalized license plate, Burl may either have saved a Safeway shopper’s life, or is due to get what he so richly deserves.

The licence plate and bumper stickers are interesting references to Theodore Bundy.

We have two Safeways here. One is called Vons and the other Pavilions. Go figure.
