Back in the days of VHS, I rented a video and watched it, and the next time I went in, the guy tried to say I ruined the tape. He showed me how it played all staticky. I told him it was like that when I had it, but I was able to watch it because I had a 4 head machine. He told me I couldn’t rent anymore unless I paid $80 for the tape. I told him that I would just patronize the three other video rental stores in town. Later, my friend went in that store and in the bin of videos for sale was that tape. He asked the guy “Why are you selling a ‘ruined’ taped?”

The new releases were 20 years old 10 years ago. I haven’t even seen them around on free cable.
