@Bruno ZeigertsIf I recall correctly, the eagles refused to carry the ring itself in any capacity, so you couldn’t just fly in, on top of the aforementioned ease of targeting (I think a dozen fell beasts would be able to take down 3 eagles, without even accounting for the mass of archery in Mordor), and the lack of them being a taxi service.
Remember, that was choreographed so neither had a choice. Actually, they asked Bruce Lee to be the loser in the fight, but he wouldn’t allow that, and Chuck Norris is so good it didn’t matter to him :)
Simple: Neither the Wiz nor Blanche is dumb enough to wear any kind of Rings when they go to Mordor..Sauron is so Obsessed with Rings that he doesn’t even Notice people who aren’t wearing any..

@Rob, Mordors’ army was already wiped out by the time Wiz and the wife made the trek. Gates left open, tower with the eye is gone, etc.
