I understand Ramirez’s rationale behind the cartoon; however, Kerry was trying to make sense of the inexplicable, not defend it.
To point out the differences between the two attacks is constructive in that DEALING with the senseless barbarity of last Friday, we need to understand that the terrorists’ objectively senseless motivation in the Charlie Hebdo shooting existed—at least in the fevered minds of those particular terrorists—while there was NO rationale behind last Friday’s terrorist barbarity other than an utter hatred of all things Western.
The Charlie Hebdo attack was coldly calculated to strike at a perceived enemy, while last Friday’s attack was no different than a tantrum by an armed, petulant two-year-old.
Ramirez would be well served if he would spend time UNDERSTANDING people and events so that he could comment accurately. As it is, his implied criticism tells us that he’s not particularly insightful.
John Kerry has spent a lifetime in public service. And he’s made a good life for himself doing it, nothing wrong with that. He probably could have done much better doing something else. To crucify him because he misspoke? To belittle and demean him? Shameful.
Tell me again the truth behind the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld attacks on Afghanistan, Iraq that killed hundreds of thousands of civilians, and CREATED the angy mob that is ISIL?

He said Rationale, Fox and others misquote him. Still stupid thing to say. I’ve learned to run certain statements in my head before spouting them.
