I’m assuming that candlepin bowling is when they turn off the lights in the bowling alley, but it sure sounds like they set the pins on fire to help your aim.

The last place I lived had a candlepin bowling place in easy driving distance, and since my daughter was five then and still picking up the ball with both hands, I figured this would be right up her alley. Ho ho. But the place was hardly ever open, even during their stated hours. We made it there once, but never managed to find a time they were truly open for business again. .Too bad, too. I enjoyed it. It was in Agawam, Massachusetts, not all that far from the Big E. I hope they’re still operating.

At least his bowling arm is intact. Perhaps he can rent a wheelchair and do a handicapped division.
