I’m surprised that Garfield didn’t already eat the blueberry muffins.

It’s not very often you see Garfield turn down food.

You want vicious then scarf down your favorite dish of food like there’s no tomorrow.

They don’t make docile cats like they used to.

He even looked happy when barking!

C’mon, Dog, Oscar from Liberty Meadows (let alone Oscar’s squirrel nemesis) could take you with or without a chain!

do something good, get a treat.

My “vicious” pit bull will do anything for a blueberry cookie.

Funny, I was just thinking the same thing about my “vicious” pit bulls. Their “vicious” is usually cancelled out by the “viciously” wagging butts.

Must be Pavlov’s muffins.

I absolutely love the dog’s expression in panel 2!

Our first tiger years ago used to sit just out of range of the neighbor’s dog on a chain. The dog would howl and bark and growl and the cat would sit there and clean himself while he watched the dog go nuts. Maybe it’s a Tiger trait.

If he wanted to have Garfield for a friend, he would have made lasagna.

Seeing Garfield’s look in the first panel, I think it is safe to assume he is nearly deaf and has no sense of smell.

I know cats like to be cool, but those decibels and the dog-breath are too overwhelming for any effort at coolness.

Garf probably already ate the muffins…that’s why he’s just walking away, looking bored as usual. Just wait till the dog opens the oven to find it empty! He won’t be so “friendly” then!
