Arlo would need to get a larger cat, but then that could be problematic, too.

The term ‘Three Dog Night’ originates from when people slept with their dogs to keep warm on cold nights. A night so cold it took 3 dogs to keep you warm was a Three Dog Night. I use 6 cats and a sleeping bag.

stlmaddog5So it is claimed, but dogs can’t handle the change from warm, humid indoors to cold, dry outdoors. The moisture picked up makes them lose the insulation of the fur so they freeze outside. They are quite capable of curling up and letting the snow drift over them.

Biologically, calling it a commensal relationship is a bit more accurate than just Symbiosis..Definition: The commensal—the species that benefits from the association—may obtain nutrients, shelter, support, or locomotion from the host species, which is unaffected. The commensal relation is often between a larger host and a smaller commensal. .Commensal relationships are a subset of Symbiosis..

Yep, symbiosis simply means living together, no matter how.Mutualistic symbiosis would be living together to the mutual benefit of all. This is not parasitic symbiosis if Arlo is benefitting from the presence of the cat, which he is.
