But not a good plan, with the price of paint today. Sometimes it just doesn’t pay to be thrifty with supplies.

Depends on how far you have to go to the store to get a new paint brush…and what other dozen projects have to be done that day.

Not suitable for fine work but good enough for priming or rough work..By the way, has anyone ever noticed that most painters are either drunks/druggies or very religious? I can certainly understand why. However, I have seen several that can paint any kind of trim using a 6" wall brush and never get a drop of paint out of place, while I can’t do it even after taping and using a $40 trim brush. And it pisses me off.

Painters are drunks, druggies and/or religious because no one else wants to do the work. The paint fumes make them worse, so they drink, drug and eventually find religion(or die). This is true of many painters, whether it is house, industrial, or automotive.

Heck, I still have paint brushes from 40 years ago, and they work just fine!

Having been in the hardware business and having sold a lot of paint, it never ceased to amaze me how some folks will purchase the finest paint and then want to apply it with the cheapest applicator they can get their hands on! I always carefully clean each brush (or roller) and wrap it in newspaper (hard to find these days) so it will keep its shape when stored…

Painting. A dubious art. Either one’s an artist, an ‘artiste’ or a drunken alcoholic in recovery (or not)… it’s a coin-toss, but I’ve got a few acrylics left over from my HS efforts, take a look. Here, have a drink while you’re paging through… No? Then I’ll just have one without you..
