^^ Fix it Obama, use the government’s vast knowledge of oil drilling disaster recovery techniques garnered from ALL of the drilling the government’s done.
Isn’t that how you guys wanted it, Howgy? Private enterprise handling the matter, which it will be inherently better at (not to mention the US government doesn’t do much cleanup itself)? BP has been leading the efforts. That’s how things went during the Exxon Valdez mess.
Oh, sorry, business is responsible only for the successes. Failures you blame on government - or at least administrations you don’t like.
Yeah, I do think that more should have been more. Your complaints, however, smack more than a little of partisan opportunism. Not that that’s anyhow surprising.
What’s wrong with that? Necessity is the mother of invention.
I suppose there are two different kinds of such responses to a crisis. One is to look for “an opportunity to to things you think you could not do before” in order to solve the crisis. The other is to make the crisis an excuse to do something totally unrelated that will take everyone’s attention away from the crisis – such as invading a country that has nothing to do with the crisis. Now that’s really taking advantage of a crisis.
