It’s obvious that the solution is mandatory gun ownership for everyone. If everybody has a gun, no one will ever be shot. Makes perfect sense.

The pen may be mightier than the sword, but, today, the gun is mightier than both…

Yes, yes. Everyone MUST be armed. After all, we find much better solutions to all of our disputes when we bring guns. Thank you Mr. LaPierre for making this so!

Mr. LaPierre didn’t make it so. The Founding Fathers did via the second amendment. In my opinion, neither having a gun or not having a gun is the solution. I think if we lived in a more polite society overall,it would be easier to spot aberrant behavior so we could more readily identify people who have mental problems. That might make it easier to get them into the system where they can receive help but not guns. But what do I know?

We need to have an emoticon for sarcasm. I agree with the poster that said it’s getting harder and harder to tell.

Every time Trump speaks, I have to ask “sarcasm”, “satire”, or senility. It’s much the same story with all the commentary on guns.

When La PIerre speaks, it’s all about crazy, and how much he’s being paid as a lobbiest. Yes, he is now “only” the executive vice president at NRA, not full-blown leader, but very wealthy all the same, earning a lot more than those folks sending in their dues to the organization.

And then I think of the three American heroes on a train in France. They were UNARMED but took down a terrorist. The BAD GUY had the guns. The GOOD GUYS had NO GUNS. Thus putting the LIE to NRA terrorist Wayne LaPierre’s famous (but false) dictum that “the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.”

How do you stop a foaming-at-the-mouth shill for the gun manufacturers?

As a gun owner, my concern has long been that La Pierre and the nuts who put him in, and their refusal to consider any reasonable alternative, on any issue dealing with firearms or ammunition, IS the greatest threat to firearms ownership. Their positions give viable ammunition to those wanting what ARE potentially repressive laws.

BTW, only a small percentage of gun owners are in the NRA, and the organization has lost many members, including a guy named Bush.

The NRA is killing us with their lax rules on gun ownership.

I wasn’t disparaging NRA members who are law-abiding decent people. But I do wonder why they stay in an organisation with such nutjob leaders.
