This is my favorite one-shot of yours so far!

I remember a manga story where you could lose weight in exchange for years off your life. A chubby high-schooler trades away ten years to get to her “perfect” weight and is promptly hit by a car—turns out she was destined to die at 25.

I’d open a bank and accept timed deposits.

My grandmother was a heavy smoker and she died at 96. Conclusion, not being one of your uncles added 18 years to her life.

Seems I remember one of Robert Heinlein’s “Future History” stories being on this theme.
