I would not vote for Mr. Takei, nor for Bernie Sanders. I have had enough socialism in America to last me a lifetime.

OK computer geeks what does the line at the bottom of the page mean; the one that reads ‘logger debug "Person attributes hash: #{@[person.attributes.inspect}*’.

The United States doesn’t want a smart, talented, honest person in the White House, they want someone like Kim Kardashian, or worse yet Donald Trump.

Again, there’s not much humor here, except for the fact that Hikaru Sulu (the fictional character) has a better chance of being elected than Bernie Sanders (also, like all presidential candidates, a fictional character). Once again, the characters we are supposed to like lean far to the left, and the character we are not supposed to like favors the Republicans - but even though this is a stable pattern of limp jokes, we’re not supposed to read into it political preaching from the cartoonists.

Not everything unexpected is funny, but when nothing is unexpected, nothing is funny, either.

Of course Roy would think that way, you don’t get much more democratic socialist than Star Trek…. The United Federation of Planets…

Hey, they always could keep pushing Mister Joseph Biden to run. Especially if Hillary falls.

Yes, exactly: the only obvious Republican is Rita. She is the only one who would stereotypically be expected to maybe be a Republican, and she is indeed “maybe a Republican”. These characters all line up exactly with their stereotypes. What’s clever or funny about that? It’s probably best to leave politics out of the strip, as you seem to be leaving religion out of the strip, but if you MUST include it, are you really unable to go beyond the stereotypes held by a portion of the population — or are you so deeply embedded in that part that you are unable to conceive of anyone whose political ideas are NOT simply stereotypical? You don’t limit Andrew to stereotypical roles based on his race, and you don’t limit the women to stereotypical roles based on their sex. Is it because you think that in the real world no one fails to support the Democratic Party unless they are as clueless as Rita, and you cannot even imagine a world in which they would? If that is the case, you really are living in world constructed of your own imagination, and it is a sadly narrow one.

Well, to quote Strong Bad, “Oh yeah, I can see why this masterwork took two dudes to write it. One to not think of something funny, and the other to think of something not funny.” Good luck finding enough creamed corn enthusiasts to stay in business.

How about making Andrew a Republican (A la Damon in “Day By Day”)

He seems bright enough to have found out that the sainted MLK was a Republican. That the Night Riders, KKK, and enacters of Jim Crow were Democrats.

That it was LBJ who said I"I’m gonna do something that’ll have them ni**ers voting Democrat for the next two hundred years."

(Use the internet for what it was meant for, look it up for yourselves.)
