Our scholar/philosopher Joel is still imprisoned in the cold, hard cell without his pipe or jug. Yesterday’s Sunday edition, since it was not aligned with the current story, showed us Joel in his normal element, happy and robust and filled with wry, gentle humor. The juxtaposition of Sunday’s image with the current arc is a harsh one. We must all hope for Joel’s quick release from imprisonment so that he may once again return to his rightful place in society.
