Is this like a kid’s first time on a roller coaster?

True story: Back in 1979, my wife & I went to the Western Washington State Fair in Puyallup, where I was eager to ride the classic little roller coaster there. For those who aren’t familiar, this is a very mild coaster, identical to one that used to be in Vancouver, BC which was called the Little Dipper.

I waited in a long lineup. (My wife didn’t join me, she hates roller coasters.) Boarding in front of me was a man with his son of about 5 or 6 years of age. At the moment the train started to move, the boy went absolutely berserk, screaming STOP THE RIDE and LET ME OFF! we hadn’t even gone up the chain lift. No matter how hard the Dad tried to calm him, he screamed bloody murder for nearly the entire ride. Finally reaching the end, the child stopped his noise and said to his Dad: “Can we go again?” Man, he looked ready to strangle him on the spot!

My little brother and I pulled a mild, slightly mean trick when we went to Disney World. When we got off the Teacups (one of the mildest rides ever), my brother got out first & held out his hand to me. I took his hand & acted like I was all dizzy. I leaned on him as he “helped” me off the ride. We actually saw a few people leave the line.
