My younger daughter was prone to nightmares when she was younger. Nothing triggered them; she would just have them. We have given her an open invitation to join us when needed…but she would actually join us. No sleeping bag. She’s 14 now; the nightmares don’t happen nearly as often, but she knows the invitation is still open. (Our older one has the same invitation, but very rarely has ever taken us up on it.)
I saw “Jaws” at a sneak preview a couple of weeks before it was officially released. The entire audience was in hysterics throughout most of the film. I don’t think that was the reaction Spielberg was going for.
Shark attacks are more rare than lightning strikes of people. Humans kill far more sharks, at least by 1000 to 1 if not more. and some of them eat jellyfish.

nightmares , as a teen.. I would beat holes in the walls… and I never watched a scary movie..many stitches in hands..
ended up moving bed into center of room.. lasted about a year..
