As with home-schooling, the missing social aspect is its big flaw. In fact, home schoolers had to form associations to create socialization opportunities — almost like schools. Church is by its nature a relational thing, and without that aspect, it loses its power.

I was a very regular church visitor until they made the church a concert hall in disguise “to attract our preferred target audience, the youth of today. They are going to have to pull the wagon.” Nothing I, and several other could do to change their minds. So now I’m home churching. No risk of hearing damage, no flashing lights, no coughing up a lung from the smoke machine that lingers until after service is over.Churches need the youth, but they also need other generations, as each generation has something to contribute.
I stopped going to church after the priest tried to rape me. Been atheist ever since. If you give money to any church you are supporting and complicit in child sex abuse.

It’s doable but better only when you’re sick. You can watch an online service from many sites. But you miss out on seeing your friends that way.
