Stone Soup by Jan Eliot for June 26, 2010
Transcript:
Val: Mom, are you SURE you want to come home? Don't abandon your new life because of us. Gramma Evie: ABANDON it? I'm not abandoning it! I'm just taking a break. I'm going to Haiti in the fall to start building more homes. Val: HAITI?! Gramma Evie: Mama was a rolling stone...wherever she laid her hat was her - Holly: Please make her stop.

Don’t recognize the tune in the final panel.
(At least Holly said “please.”)

Holly needs to quit being a pill all the time. Sing, Evie, sing!

If someone sings bad evan I don’t want to hear it. As for me sometimes fun to sing a rountine song off key so no one will ask again. Holly guess who’s coming back and what that means? Guess?

That’s how I get when my mom sings. She’s allowed to sing “MacArthur Park is Melting in the Dark” and “Suwanee River” because they’re silly and you can’t ruin them. Not that I have room to talk - I can’t carry a tune in a bucket with both hands!

Maybe Haiti was safer then. Wouldn’t go there now for any reason.
