somebodyshort– I agree! They were trying to do something creative, they weren’t sitting around watching TV and playing video games or texting all day like she’d feared. What exactly did she expect them to do all day anyway? It’ll clean up
If Val doesn’t give the kids instructions on what they should do during the day, she shouldn’t complain about them watching, or NOT watching, TV all day. They were creative, Val. Accept that, and give them the materials they need to clean it up. Then go have a glass of wine - with Phil.
With my grandkids in so many different states, I didn’t get to do as many crafts with them as I’d have liked, but now one who I did candied rose petals with is becoming an amateur blacksmith (and a high-jump champ), another is doing ballet and amateur theatre in multiple groups - and she’s much younger. I LOVE creative kids - all 4 of mine were- but they’re now in 40-s and 50s.

Better still, spend the weekend together tie-dying the rest of their sheets, pillowcases, bedroom curtains and a few T-shirts while you’re at it.

usually tie dying uses a non-washable dye. those stains may be around for a while…….i speak from experience.
