Val: Let's be clear. You are NOT going to spend the summer being COUCH POTATOES.
Val: If YOU can't think of PRODUCTIVE ways to spend your time, I WILL.
Holly: NO! We can do it!!
Val: Let's start by turning off the T.V.

Mom: “Uh, girls, didn’t you just heard what I said in panel one?!”

Holly said “we CAN do it.” Not “we WILL do it.” Important distinction. ;-)

Girls what happened to those chores, or read. Most TV shows are reruns. But then me and my sister watch tv when off for summer. Our mom didn’t read and can read just didn’t and still doesn’t care about reading. When I grew up as a kids their ages we had to come up with our own games. We rode bikes. No cable or electronics either.

I think Holly said that and added the word “LATER!”

Every endless, wonderful summer (sigh) starts out the same. Holly and Alix push their mom’s buttons with couch potatoism. She rises to the occasion, and chucks ‘em out into SUMMMMEERR and they have a blast and we enjoy it vicariously. Wish I was there. My summers lasted at least 6 Months, (sigh)

I may have had a lot to do to finish high school and start college, but I set a new personal record for movies seen in a theater-11 as of August 13. Ones that stuck out most were Iron Man 2 on Mother’s day, Toy Story 3 on Independence Day, and Inception before I went to ROAD. Maybe Holly could go to the theater and actually socialize with others-maybe even a boy.
